Nick was so helpful and honest and got me in such a nice car!!! I can’t recommend this dealership enough! Genuinely kind and genuinely have your best interest in mind here!
I recently bought a second vehicle from Nick at Patriot Auto Mart, and again am extremely happy and pleased with the whole process. As I experienced the first time, Nick took plenty of time to answer any questions, and know that he sells used vehicles that are great quality and fairly priced. It’s nice to come across businesses like this where you know that the company and owner are trustworthy in making a big purchase like a car.
I can’t say enough good things about Nick and Patriot Auto Mart! Nick is such a friendly guy and he made sure to go over every detail with me during my car search. He answered all of my questions and helped me get into the vehicle I wanted. Nick is great guy and very accommodating during the entire process. If you’re looking for vehicle, don’t hesitate to give Nick a call or stop by Patriot Auto Mart. I made the drive from Columbus and I’m glad I did.
The first thing I want to say is don't judge a book by its cover. Patriot Auto Mart's dealer lot looks rough, but bear in mind that it's a young business, nicer car lots cost more money, and their savings gets passed on to you. Plus you're not shopping for a garage, you're shopping for a car. I had a great experience with Nick, the owner/manager, when I bought my Subaru. He treated me with respect and was flexible, communicative, and available. He let me take the car I was interested in buying out to an auto shop of my choice for an inspection. All in all, it was a very professional exchange and I feel that they are trying to do good business and establish a reputation to build on for the future. The reason I have to give 3/5 stars instead of 5/5 is that I discovered a small issue with my transmission soon after purchasing the car. However, I think its likely that Patriot Auto Mart may not have known about the issue, so I want to give them the benefit of the doubt here, for reasons I'll describe below. And since the 3-month ASC warranty completely covered the transmission work, I came out on top. A couple of days after purchasing the car, I felt that the transmission was slipping in the low gears. Whenever I tried to get up to speed, the engine was very revvy and not as responsive as I would like. I took it over to AAMCO Transmissions for an inspection, the tech drove it around, and reported that it was fine, explaining that CVR transmissions often feel that way if you're not used to them (which I wasn't). I texted Nick about it and he was very accommodating and offered to have his garage techs look at it. I thanked him but declined because I reckoned AAMCO was right. So for the next month, I drove it and accepted the engine's behavior, although it still felt like something was off. By chance, when I took it to Wal-Mart for an oil change, the tech mistakenly drained my transmission fluid and they had it towed over to Subaru of Dayton. The next day, Subaru called me to tell me that my transmission was indeed slipping in the low gears and would need to be entirely rebuilt for about $6000. Now, it's possible that this was the result of Wal-Mart's trans fluid drain, but given that it's the very same problem that I'd felt and suspected early on makes me think not. As I said, ASC covered the entire cost of the new transmission, and now it's driving perfectly, so I came out on top and likely added 5-7 years to the life of the vehicle. And to be honest, it was driving *okay* before all of the transmission work. Since I had taken the car for a pre-purchase inspection and they found nothing wrong with the transmission and AAMCO also found nothing wrong with it, I tend to believe that this small issue also slipped by Patriot's garage techs. Subaru engines are notoriously ... different. And CVR transmissions are not everyone's expertise. All of that said, exercise caution whenever you buy a used car from *anyone*. Get it inspected, drive it around, take your time. Make sure you understand your warranty. Trust your gut. And give Patriot Auto Mart a shot! All in all, I'd go there again.
nick was amazing. he helped me understand how to purchase a used car and explained what i doing. he stayed 2 hours passed close to sell me the car!
